Our asphalt plants have won numerous national awards from the National Asphalt Pavement Association for excellence in facility operations. Our flexibility and portability enables efficient service for a broad multi-state area.

Over two dozen SHELLY & SANDS Asphalt Plants produce 3,000,000 tons of hot mix asphalt covering the largest geographic area of any asphalt producer in Ohio. Quality control is an essential element. The testing facilities can supply over 100 different asphalt designs to meet specifications and standards set by each state’s department of highways.

The Asphalt Terminal stores millions of gallons of liquid asphalt barged up the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers from inland and Gulf refineries. Then tanker trucks deliver the liquid to our asphalt plants.
